    2023-24 Unified Enrollment Lottery In person and virtual

    The lottery will be conducted on Monday February 6, 2023 at 3:30pm during our monthly Charter Board Meeting. You can attend the draw in person in the Library or virtually via this link:

    Results will be entered into the LAUSD Unified Enrollment system and selected applicants will be notified by Unified Enrollment after February 28, 2023. An email form Emerson will be sent after the results have been entered, notifying applicants of their status in the lottery. This email will contain detailed enrollment information for selected applicants.

    UCLA SLAM is back at Emerson beginning November 4th.  This is a great after-school program run by UCLA students for Emerson students interested in learning an instrument!  This quarter the lessons will be Fridays from 3:30 to 4:30.

    Sign up for Parent PORTAL

    PARENT PORTAL is essential for your management of student records and your access to SCHOOLOGY, the online learning management system that that will house student assignments and grades. You will also find the parent volunteer form that must be completed so you can participate in activities and trips as a chaperone. Follow the instructional video or view the written instructions to the left.     Don't forget to complete you application for the free or reduced lunch. Even if you don't qualify you must complete this form. Applicants who know they won't qualify can complete the form in minutes. Your completed application is crucial to Emerson's formula for Federal funding whether you qualify or not.

    If you are interested in becoming a parent member of the Emerson School Site Council and the Charter Board submit a nomination request to the principal, Dimone Watson by email, describing in one paragraph how you will support Emerson as a member. Your nomination will be circulated on the election form and made public on the website. Elections will take place during Back to School night in August.     All students in LAUSD are eligible for a Tap Card to ride the Metro public transportation system in Los Angeles. K-8 students ride for free and 9-12 get a reduced fare. Tap Cards  are available in the counseling office.

    The State of California requires that all 7th grade students show proof of the TDAP vaccination before schools are allowed to enroll them. Upload results to the parent portal or deliver them to the main office.

    Student's vaccination records must be uploaded to the Daily Pass NOW. Please do not wait until the last minute.

    In anticipation of upcoming state CAASPP testing in April, please encourage your students to visit the California Department of Education website for released test questions.  Please visit the following websites for released test questions and begin practicing for the upcoming SBAC.
