    Book/Device Check-in Calendar

    8 - 12 daily

    Please plan on accompanying your student on the following days to return textbooks and devices and clean out lockers:

    8th grade:  June 4th:  A - K 

    8th grade:  June 5th:  L - Z

    7th grade:  June 8th:  A - K

    7th grade:  June 9th:  L - Z

    6th grade:  June 11th:  A - J

    6th grade:  June 12th:  K - Z

    • All students must wear a mask and be accompanied by a parent.  We will be following social distancing and using all CDC and L.A. County guidelines regarding contact.  
    • No students will be allowed to remain on or in front of campus and socialize; students will be guided through the processes and sent home quickly.

    All programs require access to a computer through the internet.

    • Middle School


      Middle School Programs are open to all current 6th-8th graders. 

      OPTIONS OPEN TO ALL (JUNE 24 THRU JULY 28)

      Community-Led Summer Program: These classes will focus on English, Mathematics, and English Language Development with weekly enrichment. Teachers will support students through distance learning. Student eligibility will be determined at a local level.

      Eligibility: Open to all students, but priority is for students that need to mitigate learning loss and maintain grade level performance in reading, math, and language.

      Integrated Themed Units of Study: Teachers will provide enrichment instruction aligned to the interdisciplinary activities with key district partners. Topics include animation with Illumination, guitar class with Fender, sports medicine with the Los Angeles Chargers, environmental science/STEAM with the Columbia Memorial Science Center, coding & gaming, and more.

      When: 1:00 - 1:50 p.m. or 2:00 - 2:50 p.m. (50 minutes of direct/live instruction)
      Days: 4 days per week; may vary based on local options
      Eligibility: All students are eligible, though space may be limited.
      Please note: Class start dates may vary due to program. 

      Virtual Courses and Blended Learning Options: Take a variety of courses for current 6th-8th grade students.

      When: Schedules may vary based on course selection. More information available on May 18, 2020
      Eligibility: Current 6th through 8th grade students.

      CURRENT 8TH GRADERS GOING TO HIGH SCHOOL NEXT YEAR

      My Voice, My Future: Offers webinars for students and parents to ease the transition to high school. Sessions will focus on using student voice in meaningful and productive ways that build leadership skills and self-confidence. Parents are encouraged to participate. When: Webinars are completed on your own schedule.

      Eligibility: All current 8th graders (incoming 9th graders) and their parents. 

      Naviance College and Career Exploration: Naviance supports all students by providing an opportunity to identify strengths, discover careers, and match to best-fit higher education institutions. Available for all current 6th through 12th grade students.

    • Self-Paced Options for All (Begin June 24)


      All Kids Learning: Keep your child engaged this summer with fun, enrichment opportunities and activities, including:

      • Interdisciplinary online videos with key partners, including Fender, Illumination, Los Angeles Chargers, Voyage of the Titanic with award-winning director James Cameron, Columbia Memorial Space Center, and more!
      • Read Alouds by notable figures
      • Interviews and classes with field experts
      • Book Club
      • Virtual field trips
      • and more!

      When: These activities will be available beginning on June 24, 2020, and will continue throughout the summer. Activities are done on your own schedule. No application needed. This will be self-serve and available on demand. The schedule will be posted by June 12, 2020, right here.

    Summative Assessment Information for Parents and Students

    In anticipation of upcoming state CAASPP testing in April, please encourage your students to visit the California Department of Education website for released test questions.  Please visit the following websites for released test questions and begin practicing for the upcoming SBAC.
